Job Description: Taekwondo Instructor
Position Overview:
The Taekwondo Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and coaching in the martial art of Taekwondo. This role involves designing and implementing training programs, conducting classes, and ensuring the safety and development of students. The Taekwondo Instructor is expected to possess excellent technical skills, strong communication abilities, and a passion for promoting physical fitness and discipline.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and deliver taekwondo training sessions, adhering to established curriculum and guidelines.
- Teach students the fundamental techniques, forms, sparring, and self-defense moves of taekwondo.
- Provide demonstrations and explanations of taekwondo techniques, ensuring students understand and correctly execute them.
- Assess and monitor students' progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance for improvement.
- Promote a safe and inclusive training environment, emphasizing the importance of discipline, respect, and sportsmanship.
- Develop and implement appropriate warm-up exercises, stretching routines, and conditioning activities to enhance physical fitness and agility.
- Conduct regular assessments and tests to evaluate students' skill levels and determine their readiness for advancement.
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to organize taekwondo events, competitions, and demonstrations.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and student progress reports.
- Stay updated with the latest developments and trends in taekwondo training methods and techniques.
- Ensure all equipment and training facilities are clean, safe, and in good working condition.
- Comply with all organizational policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Taekwondo Instructor or in a similar coaching role.
- Possess a black belt or higher rank in taekwondo, certified by a recognized governing body.
- In-depth knowledge of taekwondo techniques, rules, and principles.
- Strong instructional abilities, with the capacity to effectively communicate and demonstrate taekwondo techniques to students of all ages and skill levels.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to establish rapport with students and motivate them to achieve their goals.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive training environment that fosters discipline, respect, and teamwork.
- Outstanding physical fitness, agility, and flexibility to serve as a role model for students.
- Current certification in CPR and First Aid (preferred).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate class schedules and events.
